Q: Can you meet in the evening [or the weekend] to provide the free estimate?
A: Yes we can. Please call to schedule a meeting.
Q: Is my project too small for you to provide an estimate?
A: No it isn’t. We are happy to provide a quote for any project, large or small.
Q: What areas of the Metroplex do you cover?
A: Based in Richardson, we have completed jobs all over the Metroplex. While the majority of our
projects are in Dallas & Collin counties, we have done work in Tarrant & Denton counties as well. The way to be sure is to call and schedule an initial assessment.
Q: Do you work on the weekends?
A: Yes and no. If prearranged with the client, and allowable by your city’s ordinances, we will be happy to work through the weekend—schedule permitting. Some clients prefer no work on the weekends; others prefer work only on the weekend. We are flexible.
Q: What services does Bulldog Jim Remodeling not cover?
A: If it concerns a project to build, repair or remodel a residential home we are experienced in all aspects, with licensed expertise available in all major disciplines
Q: Do you have a standard price for…?
A: A fair price for remodeling services is arrived at by an honest assessment of a project, not by standard pricing as if it were a product on a shelf. Every project brings with it, 1) a client with personal preferences, 2) a space with unique characteristics, and 3) special conditions that must be viewed and discussed to arrive at a fair price. If every kitchen / client / paint color were always exactly the same, then prices would be standardized.
Q: Is a permit always required?
A: Not always. Depending on the city where you live and the project being undertaken, a permit may be needed. IF a permit is required, one will be pulled.
Q: Do I save money if I provide my own materials for the project?
A: Typically not. There is usually no appreciable difference in the total project cost if you provide the materials. However, your decorative choices are vital to a successful remodel, so some projects will require that you provide certain materials. As an example, clients should plan to provide faucets for kitchen or bath remodels. We can help you make these choices by providing technical details and recommendations.
Q: I’m trying to sell [or lease] my house, can you get it ready for market?
A: Yes we can. We do excellent make-ready work, for market or move-in. Estimates include price & lead times, so you will know how much and how long.
Q: I am preparing to buy a house, but it has some issues. Can you provide a quote for repair of the items found by the Home Inspector?
A: Yes we can. All estimates come as an itemized spreadsheet. Once the home sale is closed, we can discuss which items you want Bulldog Jim Remodeling to correct. (In contrast to those already corrected by the seller.)
Q: I am shopping for an investment property, but they all seem to need work. What does is cost to fix up an old house so I can flip it?
A: This needs to be addressed on a case-by-case basis. We can assess the property and provide a ballpark estimate to help you determine its investment potential.
